SH!T HAPPENS.

And it happened to me. I awoke from my slumber after a long night of rain, to find that my bedroom smelled a little off.

Raw Sewage was spewing from my washing machine's drain pipe.

A cleaning Crew came.

A 500 deductible paid.

Brand Freaking New carpet cut out.

Remember those Christmas presents next to the Washing Machine? Yeah, no longer.

A Septic Truck came and sucked out 2500 gallons of water (my tank holds 1000) and it's full again.

A back hoe is parked out front.

A 1500 dollar bill to be paid.

Determines that I might need a new Drainage Field. Could be 8,000 to 25,000 dollars. You read that right.

Merry Christmas to my family.

We got Sh!t for Christmas.

I'm not bitter, really I'm not.

Oh no Lucy! What a disaster! I know it's no consolation now, but maybe someday you will look back and find humor at this turn of events. For now, it sucks and I really feel hope everything works out okay.

Lucy, I am so sorry. New carpet and Christmas presents ruined. That is heartbreaking. We have had sewer problems here and in Bloomington which have set us back thousands of dollars. It is so depressing to have to spend money on that. I will be praying for the low low end of that estimate.

Wow, um I had a pipe freeze and flood my new basement.....ok, ya doesn't even compare. Except both happend when husbands were away. What a complete NIGHTMARE!!! Holy crap. :) Get another estimate and then keep getting more until someone gives you one that is not going to take all your blood money from Josh's journey away. Are you sure you want to die in that house? Well, I guess after fixing that problem there's no way your leaving!! You should have negotiated a tree that grows bills instead of a riding lawn mower. See stories like these are exactly what Orange doesn't want me reading when I keep telling him I don't want to own again for awhile.

Hi Lucy ... you don't know me, I just "happened" upon your blog (as we sometimes do), but I wanted to give my condolences too!

What a NIGHTMARE! You poor thing.

You documented the experience very well! I like your writing.
