Slowly but Surely coming out of my funk...

The Election has me down no doubt... I have trust issues I must confess, I do NOT trust this guy.

My step mom gave my dad one week to be grumpy, and I too, am attempting the challenge. :) So bear with me as I may not seem like myself... or maybe I am always pessimistic?!? I'll work on it.

What was great about yesterday, the freaking delicious homemade chocolate cake I made for Josh. I have a massive pan, so if you live close come get a chunk! I am NOT a cake person, I'd prefer a pie, or a cookie, but cake with frosting no thanks... BUT this cake was so moist so full of flavor it will cheer anyone suffering from the recent loss, which I am beginning to think is only me. Can I say my Colts are losing frequently, too? Dang November, bring on December!

Oh Lucy, it's not just you. The morning after the election I went to get my haircut. I could tell that my normally energetic stylist was in a sad slump. I finally got it out of her: it was the election. Everyone feels like Obama & all his "followers" were the only ones who had a dream. They think they were the ones to make history. You know, McCain would have made history if he would have won because he would have beat such insurmountable odds. The true Republicans are definitely grieving. The loss of all we hold dear lays in the hands of someone we not only didn't choose, but that we don't TRUST. When you take away a person's or a nation's trust, you take away any sense of comfort that they had. NO ONE can say they were uncomfortable with Bush. They may not have been happy 24/7, but he kept us all safe. He cannot be blamed for every single thing that went wrong with this country in the last few years. Hello, the Clinton administration set him up good! So, Lucy just know that you are not alone.

nothing a little cake cant fix. dont worry too much, good things are on their way to you, I just know it. ;-) and I too feel a darkness after the results. two nights in a row, jed has fallen asleep on the couch, the first night, erick scooped him up to take him to bed, and in his sleep, jed said, "Barack Obama" then the next night Erick picked him up and Jed sat up, started clapping and said, "barack". all in his sleep. Poor kid, he is suffering along with all of us. I have a feeling his teacher might be a democrat.

Glad you are feeling a little better. I wish I were close enough to have a slice of your cake. Happy Belated Birthday to Josh! Talk to you soon.

Happy late birthday to Josh! Anyway, Lucy, I totally sympathize with the depression thing, but I figure there is nothing I, or anyone else can do about it. We did our duty by voting, and I'm proud to have made my voice heard. I've got better things to do than worry about it any longer, but, you're pregnant, so you get to be depressed about it as long as you feel! I told Ben, all we can do now is pray that he's not the man we think he is, and that he will be a good leader. If not, we get a big "told ya so!"
